Depot Park

Depot Park in Everett, Wa is a labor of love. Back in 1997 a group of volunteers called Friends of the Olde Everett Station and the BNSF Railroad joined forces in transforming this small strip of abandoned land into a beautiful gathering place for the community. Sitting just South of the former Train station.

Once within the gated garden setting you’re immediately surrounded by vibrant flowers of all kinds. In the back there is a replica train caboose with a bench and a box of magazines and toys to entertain you and the family while enjoying a great view of Puget Sound. It would be a great place to watch the trains go by too if you have a train fanatic in your circle.

While visiting Depot Park there was a gentleman who was there working diligently. He said it felt good to have his hands in the dirt and seemed to love his volunteer work at the park. It sure showed in the landscape. I thanked him for his efforts. I can’t help but to have a lot of respect for anyone that gives of themselves to make the world better for others. Even if it’s as simple as tending a garden. It’s truly inspiring. Come see for yourself!
