I must admit it- sometimes I am afraid that many parks will be the same and my adventures will just end up being the same stories over and over again. This really has not been true. Each destination has been unique and exciting to discover. Doleshel Park in Marysville, Wa is a great example of this.
The park grounds is the ghost of what used to be a 6.4 acre Christmas tree farm. What is left is pure fascination and wonder. The trees are now overgrown and still filed in neat rows which is quite pleasing to the eyes. It begins with a picnic area and a trailhead to taunt your wanderlust.
Not far down the path you will meet up with a sweet little bridge that crosses over Allen Creek. You will meet up several times with this beautiful babbling brook throughout the trail. We veered left and followed the creek all the way down to a nice wide spot to let the dogs cool off (wether it’s your feet or your canine friend 😄).
From this point we backtracked a few yards to get back on the loop that took you through more Christmas trees before opening up to a giant grassy meadow with Allen Creek hugging the far side. Taking a walk in a park, especially one like this, can be so recharging for the spirit. Just take the time to be outside!
