Harry W. Treat developed and named Golden Gardens Park in 1907. He developed this park as a place for a Sunday outing for Seattle residents. The park has an off leash dog park, playground, beach, volleyball courts and an event center. It’s located in the Ballard are at 8498 Seaview Pl. NW, Seattle, WA.
Golden Garden’s park is located adjacent to the Shilshole Marina. The parks beach is a great place to sit and watch sailboats and yachts pass by as they enter and exit the marina. You will also see a variety of indigenous waterfowl.
I really loved the fire pits on this beach. They are large iron pits with hinged doors to close to help smother the fire when you are done. Their are also plenty of park benches, covered parking, and barbecues for cooking.
The Golden Gardens Bathhouse is a focal point of the park. It was built in 1930 and today it hosts weddings and other events of up to 130 people. This structure also houses a coffee and snack bar. Public bathrooms are located on the beach side of the structure.
Golden Gardens park is both kid and dog friendly. Visit our adventure map to find an adventure near you.
