Is it a “hole in the wall” you are after or something “quaint?” This coffee shop I discovered in Marysville, Wa will charm you right from the start with its country comfort style and friendly staff.
It was a rainy Northwest day and I wanted to go somewhere cozy to draw pictures and chat with my almost 4 year old niece. The ambiance at this coffee shop nails the homey atmosphere so well that you would think that you are just hanging out at somebody’s grandma’s house. Surrounding a built in fireplace is a comfy couch and a few cushioned armchairs Or you can opt for an antique dining table or giant wooden spool (which we chose).
There was a deli case where you could see fresh prepared sandwiches, salads, fruit cups and snacks. Also, a variety of baked goods to choose from if you have a sweet tooth. Surprisingly, I didn’t try the coffee, but next time I will. We did, however, have a wonderful lunch that cost less than 15 bucks for the two of us.
It was such a good deal I had to ask the friendly face behind the counter what their mission was, seeing that it didn’t seem to be for profit. She said that the goal was to create a safe, comfortable place for the community to gather. I felt all of this while enjoying my time there and even noticed random uplifting messages throughout the building. Even the cute little ladies room had written in the stall “you are loved.” I highly recommend this for your next coffee date or even go solo with a good book. Just relax.
